EMC Celebrates 20 Years of Delivering Energy Savings this Earth Day

EMC is proud to commemorate its 20th anniversary and celebrate this Earth Day by reflecting on their achievements and environmental impact. Founded in 2003, EMC has been a driving force in delivering turnkey energy efficiency solutions for Fortune 500 clients across North America, helping them achieve significant energy savings and advancements in their net zero emissions goals.

“For 20 years, we have been leading the way in delivering energy efficiency solutions that not only drive cost savings for our clients but also have a positive impact on the environment,” said Jerry Johnson, CEO and Chairman of EMC. “From efficient LED lighting and smart building controls to specialty lighting and electric vehicle supply equipment infrastructure (EVSE), we have helped our clients realize significant energy savings, supporting our journey towards a more sustainable future.”

EMC makes sustainability a critical planning focus for customer projects, taking their goals farther, faster. In 2012, EMC achieved one billion kilowatt hours (kWh) in customer energy savings. To date, EMC has delivered customers a total of 16.5 billion kilowatt hours in energy savings, with an impressive three billion kWh added in just the past 12 months. This puts EMC well on track to reach their aggressive savings goal of 25 billion kWh by 2025.

Guided by its total project management approach, EnergyMAXX®, EMC has established itself as a leader in the industry, successfully implementing thousands of projects annually surpassing 15 million LED fixture upgrades across diverse verticals including retail, commercial, industrial, health care and hospitality markets. In recent years, the company has received national recognition for its achievements, including the Industrial Smart Lighting Solution IoT Breakthrough Award, Sapphire Award for Design Excellence in Networked Lighting Controls by LEDs Magazine, Energy Efficiency Partner Award by Xcel Energy, and the Ameren Top Performing Trade Ally Award, among many others.

By 2016, 100% of EMC lighting services focused on LED lighting and today the company has established business units that are uncovering new energy savings opportunities in the areas of smart building controls, IoT solutions, UV-C disinfection lighting, ongoing maintenance and warranty support as well as EVSE.

With the inclusion of EVSE as one of its offered solutions, EMC is empowering its clients to transition to electric mobility and reduce their carbon footprint. In fact, EMC will once again provide free EV charging in recognition of Earth Day. From Friday through Sunday, April 21-23, EMC will offer complimentary EV charging at its headquarters for both employees and visitors to promote sustainable transportation and encourage the use of EVs.

As a leader in turnkey energy efficiency solutions, EMC recognizes the significance of Earth Day as a reminder of our responsibility to protect the environment and promote sustainability. Through its comprehensive offerings, EMC is committed to making a positive impact on the environment and supporting a more sustainable future.
