Two-time defending champion Kenny Perry heads the field for the 2016 3M Championship, which kicks off festivities next week at the TPC Twin Cities, in Blaine, Minnesota. Headlining the event along with Perry, will be John Daly and Rocco Mediate, who are both playing in this week’s PGA Championship, PGA Tour Champions money-leader Bernhard Langer and Minnesota native Tom Lehman.
Perry became the first player to ever successfully defend the 3M Championship title in 2015, breezing to a four-shot victory, highlighted by a record-tying 61 in the second round.
Langer, a two-time winner of the 3M Championship (2009, 2012), has already won two PGA Tour Champions majors in 2016 and is the tour’s leading money winner. Mediate, who has a summer home in Excelsior, Minnesota, has also won a senior major in 2016. Daly has yet to win in his eight events on the PGA Tour Champions circuit, but is already a fan favorite with his booming drives and giant personality. Lehman, a three-time senior major winner, is a Minnesota native and always a fan favorite in Blaine.
