Who Calls on Energy Management Collaborative?

September 8, 2026

Whatever industry you’re in, Energy Management Collaborative (EMC) can help you determine the most effective energy efficiency strategies and deliver the advantages of working with the EnergyMAXX® process.

EMC does what most energy firms can’t, including guiding you through the entire process — from strategy to installation to ongoing service. And doing it without pushing you towards specific products...because what you need to do is make strategic choices not procurement decisions.

Since 2003, our proprietary EnergyMAXX® project management approach has delivered thousands of lighting and energy upgrade projects, saving clients more than 27 billion kWh. EnergyMAXX® includes prioritization, auditing, design, product sourcing, installation and maintenance for LED lighting, building management systems, HVAC and specialized projects across the U.S. for a range of industries. That turnkey approach has helped EMC complete more than 2,000 locations in a single year.

Doing one location proves nothing. The real question is, can you efficiently do 1,000?

Which locations make the most sense to start working on? Do all locations require exactly the same work? Can you do multiple locations without disrupting the business? Where will you find the most efficiencies? These are some of the key questions that should be addressed before you moved forward.

This is what EMC is expert at helping you do.

Our EnergyMAXX® process helps you prioritize locations and maximizes the results of each project phase — from multisite energy audits to utility rebate and incentive savings. It’s that attention to detail and what you really need that brings an immediate and positive impact to your bottom line.

A National Retailer that trusted EMC with lighting, HVAC sweeps and battery storage called on us to update building controls.

They were saddled with an outdated, proprietary building controls system that was costing them money due to operational inefficiencies throughout their 800 store locations. They wanted to take a proactive approach to updating building systems and controls to help lower operating and maintenance costs, while increasing control of their own data. But they had some specific criteria:

  • Not be tied to one vendor
  • More control over each store’s HVAC systems
  • More control over interior and exterior lighting
  • Ability to receive detailed, dynamic data on store building operations.
  • Lay the groundwork for future IoT capabilities
  • As little business interruption as possible

They turned to EMC for help. And the results?

The retailer saw payback within two years with $5M in annual savings. And that was just the beginning. Our solution provided a futureproofed infrastructure, so EMC had already helped the retailer create additional paths to savings.

A Financial Services institution needed to upgrade LEDs after acquiring new branches.

One of the largest banks in the U.S. (2,600 branches) acquired more than 600 new branch locations and wanted to bring them up to brand standards by retrofitting the interior, exterior and vault lighting with high efficiency LEDs.

The bank employed their process for sourcing materials and finding a partner to execute the installation. Choosing the right provider meant finding someone with deep industry knowledge, experience, the ability to comply with rigorous security standards and the capacity to execute a turnkey approach at scale within a strict timeline. But they also wanted a provider that would provide them with a consultative approach, rather than simply sell them something.

EMC met those requirements. And more.

The bank contracted EMC to do the labor on a lighting retrofit. After the first installs were complete, the client could see that EMCs turnkey approach would be the most economical option. EMC was then awarded a pilot program to rework 150 branches and worked closely with the bank’s facilities team and material supplier to ensure that storage, ordering and warranty replacement issues were resolved so the project would go smoothly.

The results have been impressive:

  • 33% more cost savings have been identified
  • Saved 193,115 kWh annually

The bank has subsequently awarded EMC work for their entire portfolio of branches, their headquarters and other facilities.

A national animal hospital called on EMC for help with their building management systems.

A national multi-brand animal hospital chain came to EMC for help. One of their brands has more than 1,000 locations with no building management system other than thermostats.

The client was looking for more visibility into the lighting and HVAC systems at their locations, including any new builds, along with insight into the overall health of each indoor environment.

Client Objectives

  1. Make their hospitals more energy efficient
  2. Track data they can use for a proactive maintenance program

In addition, EMC had to consider that animal hospitals, much like any other medical facility, are subject to specific regulations regarding the cleanliness and air quality of their operating rooms.

With no existing controls to consider, EMC took an implementation approach that had worked successfully in the past. The client now has full visibility into system data from device to dashboard and receives custom reports from every roof top unit (RTU) along with data on other mechanical and lighting inventory. And they can now perform data-driven maintenance planning and make informed equipment replacement decisions.

The results?

  • 55 locations have been implemented with an additional 83 sites queued up.
  • EMC also helped the client achieve LEED Gold Certification on one of their sites. This is further indication that the new control system not only lowers their overall operating costs but also leads to healthier indoor environments.

Whatever industry you serve, EMC can be your answer.

Our repeatable EnergyMAXX® process — plus our deep experience —allows us to deliver for any industry with any number of locations, anywhere.
